“My name is Trisher Tinotenda Mpatsi from Zimbabwe and this is my my #hercyberstory .
My journey into the CyberGirls Fellowship 4.0 cohort all started when my friend Melisa Musa, a participant in the CyberGirls 3.0 cohort, encouraged me to apply for the CyberGirls Fellowship 4.0 cohort. That decision marked a turning point in my career, propelling me towards greatness.
Through the CyberGirls Fellowship, I gained access to a wealth of learning materials that equipped me with hands-on technical skills in networking, cloud computing, and other cybersecurity/technology skills.
Although just 3 months into what is an 8-months long program, the knowledge I have received so far has laid the foundation for my career transformation. Recently, I secured a position as an Implementation and Support Engineer.
One of the game-changing moments in my job hunt was utilizing a pre-interview trick shared by Confidence Staveley during our LinkedIn masterclass. This strategy worked wonders, allowing me to ace the interview. The questions posed during the interview, particularly about ITIL 4 Foundation and Microsoft platforms, were areas I had mastered through the fellowship’s comprehensive learning materials. I answered confidently and thoroughly, eager to share my extensive knowledge.
Getting the job was a dream come true.
Before joining the fellowship, I was simply a Computer Science degree holder from Bindura University in Zimbabwe. Now, I am a living testament to the CyberGirls mantra and breaking barriers in the tech world.
To my fellow CyberSisters, if CyberGirls can transform my life within a few months , it can transform yours too. Let’s apply everything we learn and “choose consistency over vibes,” as Confidence always says.
A heartfelt thank you to the CyberSafe Foundation, its partners, Confidence Staveley, and Mr. Segun Ebenezer Olaniyan for their dedication to empowering girls in the tech industry. Your efforts are making a profound difference in our lives.”
