There is no such thing as an “Ideal CyberGirl”

At CyberGirls, we value the unique personalities, experiences, and perspectives of each fellow. The CyberGirls Fellowship application process is deliberately tailored to take a holistic approach, looking beyond traditional qualifications and considering each applicant as a unique and whole person. This enables us to carefully seek out individuals who are passionate and dedicated to breaking barriers and equipping themselves with the required skills to begin their careers in cybersecurity, improve their local communities and seize work opportunities in Africa and across the world.

Do you want the CyberGirls Experience?

You are eligible for the CyberGirls Fellowship if you:

  • Passionate about starting a career in cybersecurity.
  • Are a Female aged 18 – 28 years old as of the commencement of the fellowship.
  • Are a citizen and resident of an African country.
  • Are proficient in English and have completed High school/Secondary school.
  • Can withstand the pressures of an intensive hands-on technical training.
  • Have access to the internet and are willing to devote fully to 7 months of intensive training.
  • Do not have a job in cybersecurity or possess a cybersecurity certification that can land you one.
  • Are not participating in any fellowship or boot camp as of the application deadline.

Critical Infrastructure Security

Protect essential systems and networks supporting critical infrastructure with strategies and technologies to mitigate cyber threats.

Integrate security into the DevOps process with secure coding practices, security testing, and security monitoring in a DevOps environment.

Digital Forensics and Threat Intelligence

Investigate and analyze cyber threats using digital forensics and threat intelligence techniques.

Governance, Risk, and Compliance

Understand the importance of governance, risk, and compliance in cybersecurity, including frameworks and standards, and regulatory requirements.

Incident Response (SOC Analyst 1)

Detect, investigate, and respond to cybersecurity incidents using various tools and techniques as a Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst.

Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing

Identify and exploit vulnerabilities in computer systems and networks with vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, and ethical hacking techniques.
