“Theresa’s CyberGirls Fellowship Transcripts Landed Her Acceptance into a UK Master’s Program in Cybersecurity, Bypassing the
Bachelor’s Degree Requirement”Theresa Jani
I have often described CyberGirls Fellowship in presentations as a disruptive educational model and I believed it but we didnt have academia proof…so the universe must have said, “hold this glass for me”.
My conviction mostly came from the fact that we had effectively crunched so much knowledge into an 8-months intensive training experience and offered it to young African women, for free.
However, few months ago, Theresa Jani, a CyberGirl in Zimbabwe, who doesn’t have a Bachelors Degree, applied to a university in the UK to study for an MSc. in cybersecurity. To show she qualified for the masters, she provided her CyberGirls course transcripts.
Guess what? She was accepted into the program!
Theresa has had to defer her admission to September 2024 to enable raise funds for her tuition and any financial help you can give her, will be much appreciated.
She has also passed the Security Blue Team BTL1 , a practical 24-hour incident response exam that tests candidates ability to use different tools, investigate different systems, and identify activity across multiple ATT&CK Framework tactics.
I knew our curriculum at CyberGirls was badass but didn’t know it was this level.
We are celebrating Theresa Jani’s win as a Programming milestone. Congratulations Theresa!
As I always say, with us, it’s world-class or nothing!
